Wow! I’m still buzzing!
On Sunday, we took part in the most amazing photoshoot at the studio of the inimitable and super talented photographer Kate Swerdlow. There were 12 gorgeous girls all aged between 9 and 14 who had just completed a fabulous 12 week make up course with another huge talent, make-up artist, Justine Isaacson, who runs Glamour Gloss Girls.
This was their final session and we decided that they deserved the ultimate Girl Power Finale – gorgeous make up, Silhouette’s fabulous dresses together with insane photos of the experience.
Not only did the girls have the best time, so did we!! Being in Kate’s studio is such an empowering experience. She knows how to put people at their ease, has the best eye and she gets the most incredible images as a result.
I’m always banging on about how young girls need to be themselves, embracing their own style and rocking their own look every step of the way. Well, Sunday’s photoshoot was all about that! It was all about making sure the girls felt fabulous and realised just how special they are by just being themselves!
Over the previous 12 weeks, Justine had taught the girls so many invaluable make-up skills (skills that will stay with them forever) and on Sunday, the girls, using all they had learnt, created their own looks, were then able to choose dresses they loved from our collections and they posed and laughed their way through the morning, each showing their individuality, their personality and their very own personal style!
It was the ultimate show of Girl Power and I loved every second and I know Justine and Kate did too. The plan is to do much more of this in 2022 and I can’t wait!!
