As Covid restrictions ease and people start to look forward to celebrating life’s happy times again, we’d love to help make the planning process as stress free as possible.
So, if you’re starting to plan and think about your Wedding, Bar/Bat-Mitzvah, Birthday Party or any other kind of party, here are some hints and tips to get you started together with the link to our Party Planner which has detailed checklists, tips, advice and plenty of room to record your research. Definitely worth a download to help you along the way… I certainly wish I’d had it when I was planning my family events!!
Think about a theme
This is not essential but it’s fun and it always looks so cohesive when all the décor, stationary and all the other party bits and pieces are on theme. This theme could be anything – the world is your oyster. You can keep it traditional by doing a ball or black-tie theme or you could take it to the other end of the spectrum and do a party themed around your favourite film or TV programme. Or it can be as simple as a colour scheme!
Book the important things ahead of time
Now that hopefully, venues and events will remain unrestricted, the first thing to consider when planning your celebration is to book all the important things well in advance. Making sure you having a booking in place for a venue, catering, evening entertainment and photographers will immediately take the weight off of your shoulders as these are usually the hardest things to get sorted. Most importantly, make sure to ask around and get personal recommendations so that you’re confident in your choices for the day
Find your dream outfit
It’s important that you feel comfortable and confident for the entire night so, the party planning process is the perfect opportunity to find your dream outfit! This is such a fun and exciting part of the process which is why we always recommend a personal shopping appointment so you can get the full experience of trying loads of gorgeous styles with expert advice thrown in along the way! We also recommend that you give yourself at least 2-3 months to choose your perfect dress as sometimes, a different size or colour may need ordering or some alteration may be needed to get the perfect fit. Manage out of town guests
As soon as you know the date, venue and theme of the party make sure to let all your guests know particularly any out-of-town guests. These guests will have to organise transport and possibly even somewhere to stay for the night. If you can, be sure to offer some transport or hotel suggestions to these guests so the process is as smooth as possible for them! You can create a “Save the Date” card with all the details on it. This doesn’t have to be printed, it can be sent by email just as easily.
Consider any special transportation
If you’d like special transport (for the bride/groom or for the Birthday boy/girl), such as a limo or maybe, their favourite sports car, this should be considered early on in the planning process as these kinds of transport options tend to get booked up very quickly.
Don’t forget about party favours
Party favours are a great addition to any party. Not an essential but they add that little special touch to any event. These favours are usually some kind of gift guests can keep forever in order to thank them for coming to your special day. Some of our favourite favours are:
- Personalised t-shirts or Hoodies
- Personalised sweets or chocolates
- Matching bracelets
- Personalised Cupcakes or Cookies
These are just a small selection of things to consider when planning a celebration. There are so many others, too many to list here but we have them all included in our complimentary Party Planner which you can get by clicking here.
Most importantly though, it’s important to enjoy the planning process. After all, it’s a special occasion you are planning, so it really should be fun to organise and look forward to. Try and make sure you remember that every step of the way.
Sending you a huge congratulations for your special event and Happy Planning!!
