We love this time of year! Prom season is coming to an end and it’s time to prepare for next season’s trends – thinking ahead to the final part of 2019 and beyond. And this A/W 2019 promises to be a showstopper! So many gorgeous short party dresses out there – it’s going to be really difficult to choose! As with every season, there are a few trends which keep cropping up. Last year, prints were all the rage! And the embellished bodice was everywhere! This year the styles appear to be more pared down but no less stunning. The detail is in the quality and the style. The fabrics are luxurious and structure is king. And this seems to be across the board from the long prom dress to the 6 year old party dress. Here are just a few key trends for the season. SHIMMER, SHIMMER, SHIMMER
Last season designers dipped their toes in the world of shimmer. This season it is everywhere! Less crystal embellishment is needed with the gorgeous new materials which are coming to the market. Glitter Jersey, Cracked Ice Taffeta, Shimmer Brocade. The list goes on and the results are stunning! We’re totally in love with this new look and can’t wait to bring in these beauties and so much more…
POCKETS
Who doesn’t love a pocket?! The ultimate in comfort! So many styles this season come with pockets and we are so excited by this. Just think of those relaxed photo opportunities – hands in pockets, loving every second. There’s nothing like it….
SATIN
Satin was huge last season and the trend continues. All types of satin are out there – a gorgeous structured mikado satin, a velvety luminous satin, duchess satin – we love them all! Taffeta is making a come back too with some really modern, sharp designs. It’s gonna be an exciting season.
IT’S ALL ABOUT THE BACK
Strappy open backs in different designs have been big news for a few seasons now and it’s a trend that shows no signs of abating. Criss Cross designs, Plunge backs, Keyhole details, we love them all!
YELLOW
Finally, we’re seeing a lot of yellow! We’re not sure about yellow but it’s definitely on its way both on the high street and with prom designers. Maybe we just need a little bit of time to fully embrace and maybe it’s time to bring a little sunshine into our wardrobes. We’d love to hear your views…..
